You
have reached the web site of Gerry
Meister,
a Biology instructor at Douglas College in New Westminster. The
primary purpose of this site is to make my class notes available to my
own
students
when they miss a class or wish to look ahead. I should point out that
ALL of my
notes are a work in progress and may be updated right up to my classes
each
week. If you use the notes to work ahead, you should therefore check
back again
after the classes to make sure that nothing has changed. In addition,
you will
find places where there are obvious gaps in the notes. In most cases
these gaps
are to be filled in during class discussions or from assigned readings.
Finally, I wish to emphasize that these notes are meant to be used as a
study
guide only. You are responsible for all material covered in class,
in your
course manuals (Douglas College students) and in assigned readings.
If you have found your way here and
you are not
one of my students, please feel free to use this material in any way
you
choose. It is all entirely copyright free! However, keep in mind that
the
emphasis that I place on various material and the way that I cover the
material
may not be the same as other instructors. Furthermore, my notes and
some
other materials included here have not been reviewed and approved by
the
Douglas Biology Department. It is therefore imperative that you
attend your
classes and get your own instructor's perspective.
